After 17 Years of Dedication, Dirk Schagen Retires from the Library Sector
After 17 years in the library sector, Dirk Schagen, Sales Director of Nexbib Germany, bids farewell to his professional career and embarks on a well-deserved retirement. Dirk looks back on over 40 years of sales experience in senior positions within the printing, publishing, and library industries. His passion for literature has been a constant theme throughout his career.
“It has always been my priority to support libraries in their diverse activities related to literature, culture, and education. The librarians have always made me feel like a genuine and welcome part of their world. This is not as pronounced in other industries, and I have always appreciated that. Now, I look forward to the next phase of my life, which will allow me more time for my passion: classical music and traveling to various opera performances,” explains Dirk Schagen.
Markus Rösch, Managing Director of Nexbib Germany, honors his former colleague: “Dirk has been our driving force, creatively and significantly advancing our sales consulting. He has played a crucial role in transforming Nexbib from a start-up into a renowned system provider for libraries over the past three years. We sincerely thank him for his tremendous commitment and loyalty. We will miss not only his professional expertise and extensive experience but also Dirk as a warm colleague with his entertaining anecdotes. We wish him all the best for his retirement and many fulfilling moments as he immerses himself in all his sports and cultural passions.”
Dirk Schagen adds, “The last three years have been particularly inspiring and exciting for me. I have greatly enjoyed being part of the highly motivated Nexbib team. Nexbib’s success is largely based on this well-coordinated, friendly team that always keeps its eyes and ears open in the interest of its customers. I wish the entire team continued success from the bottom of my heart!”
Markus Rösch remains the primary contact and head of the Sales + Consulting team, which has been strengthened by Nicola Schöpke since October 1, 2024. As librarian she is well-acquainted with the industry and its needs.
